A sunny day on the Downs in mid-May and a well-earned victory over the Blues. Who could ask for more in life?
A mixed-age group Foxes team (mainly year three, with two year fours and one year five - super skipper and defensive general Ollie P) took on a mixed-age group Blues team (an even mixture of year threes and fours).
The final score (6-1 to the Foxes) may have been slightly inflated by the goal scoring excellence of an on-loan Blue (Imogen who would make most, if not all, year 4 boys teams I've seen) but as the Blues only goal was an unlucky own-goal by the Foxes defence I'm not sure that her presence affected the overall result. Indeed one of the best bits of football of the whole game came from a mazy Anna D run, a well timed pass and a great shot from Olivia. Total football.
Some great all-round performances - Olivia was excellent, Anna R as cool as ever, Anna D a perpetual motion machine in green and white, Ella a rock in defence and Tia solid on the pitch and brave in goal.
Thanks to BLUFC for the game and for generously lending their better players and congratulations to Tia - player of the week.
