Year 4 Boys v Clifton Utd, 16th January

The Downs came to our rescue again when Clifton's pitches were too wet to play but we were able to host and so make sure the games went ahead.

The Foxes were split into two equal squads and each played the one Clifton squad.

In the first game we started slowly and only led 1-0 at half time.The second period was, however, a completely different story as we ran away 8-0 winners. Some of our passing was the best we have produced and a joy to watch. Goals came from Joey and Omar (3 each) Harri and Jack.

The second game was much closer as this time the Foxes decided that passing was a bit old hat and each player tried, with a few honourable exceptions, to beat Clifton on his own. This is never a particularly good thing and the team owed a great deal to two outstanding saves by Owen in the first half and a great performance by Alec in the centre of midfield. We did end up winning 4-0 with goals from Sonny (3) and Danny but we did not play with a great deal of thought or shape.

Overall another good day for the Foxes. Players of the week were Joey in the first game and Alec in the second.
