10/11/12 - BSYL Yr 7 Ashley Down 3 - 7 Foxes

We went into this game wondering how would the Foxes cope without Owen in goal and Captain Lawes in midfield. As it turned out we managed to win, in the end quite comfortably, and actually had Sam along for the first half. However, we never really played with much fluency and Ashley Down caused us problems throughout the game.

Indeed Ashley Down carved out the better of the early chances before Ollie C scored with a fine header from a great cross from the ever-lively Jack C. After an equaliser from the home side, a strong run by Omar  forced an own goal and the Foxes stretched their lead further when Danny scored his first after a slick move. Ashley Down came back with a second but the Foxes restored their two goal lead after Danny was tripped in the box and scored the resulting penalty.

The second half started with a similar pattern, with Ashley Down grabbing their third before Danny tried his luck, twice, from long range with the wet ball squirming past the unlucky keeper on both occasions. The icing on the cake came when Ollie K rounded off the scoring with a fantastic half-volley from the edge of the box for his first of the season.

Overall I think the game can be summed up as a deserved win where the whole squad played well individually but, for once, we didn't click as a team. Harri was deserved his man of the match award for his tireless work and special mention to Sonny and Nick who shared goal keeping duties in Owen's absence.
