Y6 Foxes Whites go top in U11 BSYL 17 Nov

After many weather-affected matches, the Y6 Foxes Whites played their first match of the season on home turf and hosted league leaders Thornbury in a top of the table clash.  Several Foxes sported new "crazy" hairstyles but seemed to have recovered well from their pre-match disco!

In a highly competitive match both teams played some excellent football.  Playing down a slight slope, the Foxes Whites went into an early lead with a well-taken goal from Stanley.  Continual pressure from the Foxes then led to Thornbury conceding an own-goal.  Henry then battled through both the goalie and the Thornbury defence to score a third so that the Foxes were 3:0 up at half-time. The second half saw the goal of the match when John took the ball in his own half and ran from half-way to finish with a superb left-footed shot.  Tee-Jay  added a far-post fifth goal to complete an outstanding Foxes performance.

The Foxes continued to create chance after chance and only some exceptional keeping by the Thornbury  goalkeeper kept the scoreline down. Harrison went close several times but today it just didn't happen for him.Thornbury kept pressing for a break-through until the final whistle, and only outstanding defence by Jack and William, together with a brilliant finger tip save from Caston kept the sheet clean.  The best performance of the year so far - well done all!

Result: Westbury Park Foxes Whites won 5:0.

Squad: Harrison, Caston, Henry, John, Jack (C), William W, Tee-Jay, Stanley.
