Y6 Foxes do the Double!

Westbury Park Foxes Whites completed the U11 BSYL league and couple double today with a stunning Cup Final win against an impressive Ingleside team.

Nerves were set on edge when, for the first 10 minutes, Ingleside controlled the match and the Foxes were on the back foot. The Foxes' midfield need to be bolstered and after a tactical substitution, a long-range strike from sweeper Jack Harvey gave the Foxes the lead and they then started to dominate the match. A second followed soon after when Joseph McMurchie pounced on a parried save by the Ingleside keeper.  Stanley McCormick added a third before the man of the match, Harrison Nash, grabbed a brace of goals, the first a superb volley from 20m. Stanley McCormick added a sixth just before half time to give the Foxes a 6:0 lead at the break. Every one of the Foxes was playing their hearts out and despite the lead, they remained focussed on the task in hand.

Ingleside never gave in and continued to press in the second half. Only some stout defence by Tee-Jay O'Donoghue and Foxes' Captain William Wilkinson kept them out.  Henry Sweet added two more for the Foxes but Ingleside continued to try for a goal.  The Foxes' keeper, Caston Williamson, made some fabulous saves to keep a clean sheet and only some superb play by the Ingleside keeper kept the Foxes' John Elderton from scoring late in the game after a couple of wonderful runs.  The final score of 8:0 to the Foxes did not reflect the effort and skill of the Ingleside team.

Congratulations to both sides for a fantastic match played in a wonderful and thoroughly sporting manner.

The Foxes played some outstanding football and put in a superb performance.  Everyone associated with the Y6 Foxes should be very proud of what the club has achieved today.
