The Foxes continued
their impressive start to the season with a second win and a second clean
sheet. Ashley Down, who had also won their opening game of the season, proved
to be well organised and difficult to break down. The Foxes back
four, with Alec and Nick standing out, coped with the away
sides three or four man counter attacks, and the midfield and strikers kept
probing for an opening.
The first goal came when the
Foxes used width to get behind the Ashley Down defence, with Ollie C's great
cross finding Captain Jack at the far post. The lead was increased before
half time when Omar completed a lovely passing move through the middle of
the pitch. The second half followed a similar pattern, but only one goal came
as Ed scored his first for the club with a cool finish. Changes in the
back four gave Ashley Down more space but Foxes keeper Owen was
determined to end with another clean sheet.
