Yr 9 BSYL - 27/09, Wickwar 7 - 4 Foxes

The Foxes travelled in expectation to Wickwar but came away with a heavy defeat after a disastrous first 20 minutes. The home side took the lead within the first minute as the Foxes decided not to tackle and, in a blink of an eye, the score was suddenly 4-0 with the Foxes struggling to play with any rhythm or coherence.

Things started to look up as Jack scored great goal but the half ended with another Wickwar goal and a 5-1 deficit. Half time was focussed on instilling belief that we could still make something of the game and the target of winning the second half. Despite best efforts it got worse before it got better as Wickar extended their lead to 6-1. From then on it was all the Foxes as jack scored another scorcher, Omar took his chance well and Nick refused to give up and got on the end of a through ball before the keeper. Other chances came and went before Wickwar killed the game off with a good headed goal from a corner.

So, a game of two halves which was lost in the first few minutes. The second half was much, much better but we had left ourselves just too much to do.

Man of the match - Nick
