BSYL - Year 9, 18/10. Foxes 7 - 0 Golden Hill Sonics

The Foxes went joint-top of the league with a fine win and their best, and most impressive, performance of the season. Joe returned to action after a month out with an injury and played a full part in a midfield that dominated the visitors.

Defending strongly, moving the ball quickly and breaking at speed the Foxes were too much for the Sonics in the first 20 minutes and goals from Jack, the first after an unselfish pass from Sam and the second with his head, Sam and Omar gave the Foxes a comfortable 4-0 cushion.

The Sonics never gave up and tried to flood forward when they had the ball but Archie had an easy game in goal, although his ability to organise Harri, Alec and Ollie K and Nick, was a key factor. Three more goals came in the second half: a crisp free kick from Ollie C; a third for Jack; and a wonderful solo goal from Nick left the final score 7-0.

The speed, strength and precision of the Foxes football was great to see and any of the players could have received the coaches' man of the match award but Jack deserved it for three goals and a great all round performance.
