BSYL Year 7 - Thornbury Falcons 2 - 5 Foxes - 17th Nov

Thornbury Falcons 2 - 5 Westbury Park Foxes

The Foxes best league performance of the season saw us taking all three points in an enjoyable game against Thornbury. The first half was a competitive affair with both sides creating chances, although the Foxes  probably had the greater share of the ball and the pressure. Danny put away a penalty that was awarded when Omar was tripped after a skillful run but Thornbury came back with their own successful spot-kick to make it 1-1. The highlight of the first half was undoubtedly Owen's sensational one-handed save from a long range shot to deny Thornbury the lead. What a keeper.

The second half began with Thornbury pressing for the lead but the Foxes played some great passing football and in the space of five minutes took the score to 1-3 with well taken goals through captain Jack C and the impressive Harry. A further goal from Omar acted to calm the nerves and despite Thornbury pulling one back, Jack C rounded off a great day with his second and our fifth.

Whereas against  Ashley Down we played well individually but didn't gel as a team, today the team work flowed for the full hour. The whole squad contributed to the performance but special mention - and a joint man of the match award - for Foxes centre half pairing, Ollie K and Harri TD.
