Westbury Park Foxes climb back into second place in the Bristol Girls League.
Following on from a fantastic result last week the Foxes played host to Longwell Green at St Ursulas.
This match gave an opportunity to give more playing time to some of our Y4s, Bea and Ruby, as well as Molly, who had missed out last week. It also gave a chance to move some of our usual defenders further up the pitch.
The result was an emphatic win for the the Foxes, which included a hat trick of hat tricks, as Sim, Mara and Lily all found the back of the net 3 times. The other goal was deflected in by the Green defence, following a Lulu corner.
The 5-1 half time lead enabled Betty a rare opportunity to swap the gloves with Lulu, and enjoy a half as an outfield player. She quickly imposed herself in the midfield, looking like she had been there all season, and the Foxes added a further 5 unanswered goals.
Whilst we will certainly face sterner opposition in the coming weeks it was great to see the improvement in passing and movement off the ball, and great to see goals coming from different scorers.
