Year 2 vs Bishop Road, 3rd October

The year 2 Foxes played their first away games this morning against Bishop Road.
Tamsin and Phil's squad started their first game as if it were a sunny Saturday in June, with Josh, Simran and Monty all getting on the scoresheet in a 3-0 victory. Tim and Ben's squad battled through the rain - Bishop Road took an early lead, and despite a great goal from Sam Rowland, Bishop Road's long distance shooting helped them to a 4-1 victory.

In the second round of matches, I admit, I lost track of the scorers – paper and pen needed next time. Eight goals were scored as the Foxes racked up two more wins; 3-0 and a 5-4 humdinger. Special mention to Ben and Ella for their individual runs which, but for the Bishop Road keeper, would have added to the goal glut. At the other end of the pitch, Joseph's heroics in goal and Dom's no-nonsense defending helped keep some great Bishop Road attacks at bay.

Well played to everyone - on the evidence of the first two weeks, we have some great football to look forward to over the rest of the year.

Lastly, just like Wembley and Twickenham, Bishop Road's ground is an excellent facility hampered by parking difficulties. Happily though, we all retrieved our cars from the car park / car pound in relatively short order – so thanks to all those who helped with lifts and phone calls.
